Last week, I had the privilege of standing up in my brother Zack’s wedding. I absolutely love weddings! It’s an excuse to get all dressed up, put on a pair of heels (which I never do!), and dance the night away with my hubby. It’s the perfect date. And besides being a fun party, weddings also remind us all about the beauty of marriage and those vows you proclaim to each other in front of God and all your family and friends.
I remember saying those exact vows to my husband almost 4 years ago on our wedding day. “I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life.” I stood there next to my brother and my new sister Alexa, while they said those words to each other and exchanged rings. My brother’s face was beaming and he had tears welling up in his eyes. I looked over at my husband on the opposite side, standing with the groomsmen and he winked at me. I knew we were both reliving that same moment we shared on our wedding day just a few years ago.
Marriage is truly beautiful. It’s about two people becoming one and sharing a lifetime together. I’m so happy for Zack and Alexa as they start their journey together as husband and wife. My hope for them is that they always remember how in love they were on their wedding day as they said those precious vows to one another, and that their love only grows stronger as the years go by.
Thank you Zack and Alexa for sharing such a beautiful day, a reflection of your new marriage and the couple that you are.
