Thank you Mumberry for providing me with supportive maternity activewear in exchange for an honest review.

I wasn’t nervous about hiking the Flatirons during our trip to Colorado, but I did make sure I had appropriate apparel to wear that would offer my pregnant belly and back the support I needed during the trek. I wore my new Mumberry supportive capris and moisture-wicking tee and the result was surprising!

Let me rewind just a bit… Two days before our hike, we went to the Omaha zoo (a half-way point between Wisconsin and Colorado). I wore flatfooted leather boots, regular non-maternity cotton leggings, and a long-sleeve top. We walked around for just over a couple of hours and my back and legs were killing me by the end of it! Keep in mind, we did some sitting during this time too!

Now, fast forward back to hiking day… Like I said, I wore my Mumberry capris and tee along with my hiking boots.  We spent about the same amount of time hiking up and down the Flatirons as we did at the zoo. It was a tough hike for me at 24 weeks pregnant, very steep with lots of “steps/rocks” to climb. Let’s also not forget, that being up in a higher altitude can make breathing a little harder on visitors due to there being less total oxygen in the air. During the hike, I was breathing hard and my thighs were burning from the exercise.

By the time we made it back down the mountain, I was tired and knew that I pushed my body past it’s normal activity level. But, my body didn’t ache like it did after the zoo. My back and belly didn’t hurt. I was physically exhausted, yet I didn’t feel pain or strain in my body, and I seriously give all the credit to the support from my Mumberry activewear and my hiking boots.

I’m used to wearing stretchy cotton leggings, so when I first put on my Mumberry capris they felt a little tight, which just meant the bands are doing their job to support me. After I moved around in them, they were completely comfortable. The fabric of the capris is nice and thick too, which is awesome for hiding imperfections 😉

The tee also has a supportive band built into it, but I decided to roll that one up under my bra and just use the band on the capris for the day. I love the details of the shirt. It is made up of high-quality breathable fabric, a fun bright color, and allows plenty of room for my growing belly. The tee even has fun little thumb-holes added in.
