I’m sooo excited with how my nursery turned out now that I’ve pulled it all together. I’m officially ready for this baby boy to be born. I have clothes and blankets laundered, my hospital bag packed, the modern neutral nursery is setup and is more than I could have dreamed of. I seriously just stand in his room and stare at everything, I’m so thrilled with it! I wanted a theme-less nursery. Something modern and neutral that feels cozy yet collected, but also a room that he can grow into.
The star of the nursery is THAT CRIB! It’s the Cameo Crib in Toast from Milk Street. Milk Street is a company recently launched by designer Julie Kinsley who has designed luxury furniture for brands like Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn! She has a passion for crib safety and a vision for beautifully styled nursery furniture. I just had to have her Cameo Crib in my nursery. I haven’t seen anything else like it on the market, so it feels extra special and unique.
A high-end crib deserves a quality mattress, so I chose the Serta iComfort Dawn Mist Supreme Firm Foam Crib and Toddler Mattress from Delta Children. I love that there is a firmer side for him as an infant, while the opposite side is created for ideal comfort as he grows into a toddler. The layer of knit fabric is so soft to glide your hand over, unlike any other mattress I’ve had. My favorite feature is that it’s water and stain resistant even though it’s so soft.
I added the Bereber Beige rug from Lorena Canals who is famous for their machine-washable rugs, making them pretty awesome for a nursery or other spaces kids are going to hang out in. It’s simple and comfortable, yet adds a very cool touch to the nursery’s overall design.
By the way, check out that Toast finish! Milk Street prides themselves in their finishes and Toast just happens to be their signature finish. The process involves 20 steps and is hand-applied by the best finishers in the furniture world. Their incredible pieces are each made to order and handcrafted. I love this crib so much that’ll I’ll be ordering the matching dresser to add to his nursery, and I’ll be sure to show you all how it looks when I get it!
The decor is simple yet modern. I love the Humble & Kind saying on my custom wood sign from House of Belonging. They are words my little guy can live by. I searched Etsy for unique crib sheets and went with a cactus print as well as an alphabet print from Wild Littles. I want all of their blankets and sheets! It was hard to decide on just two. The canvas growth chart from Wee Gallery adds just the right touch of design and evokes the feeling of childhood to the room. The pillows, stuffed animals, and wire basket were all Target finds and the custom leather pouf was another Etsy discovery.
The rocking chair is from Jeremy’s grandma Evelyn. (Yes, that’s where our daughter’s name came from.) The window table came from my husband’s childhood home. Both pieces were passed down from one generation to the next. I love combining old family pieces with new ones. I just know that our crib from Milk Street will be one of those pieces that gets passed down through the family because it’s more than a piece of furniture. The quality and beauty will last the test of time and my hope is that one day my son can say to his little one that he slept in the very same crib.
This nursery was created with my little boy in mind. A lot of love and planning went into it and I hope it inspires you to create a space in your home that you love. I know that my heart is happiest when I feel at home, and I feel at home in this lovely nursery.
