Celebrating Baby's First Christmas As A Nursing Mom + An Announcement - #ForBetterBeginnings #PlaytexMom Playtex Baby™ Nurser® with Drop-Ins® Liners

Thank you Playtex Baby™ for sponsoring this baby’s first Christmas as a breastfeeding mom post!

[Nope, I’m not pregnant again. Too soon for that! I’ll get to my fun announcement in a bit, so keep reading…]

I can’t explain just how grateful I am to have my second baby, my baby boy Levi James. I know it sounds cliché when parents say everything is so much more magical when you experience it with your child, but it’s true. It’s Levi’s very first Christmas. He’s far too young to remember this first, yet as a mom, these memories will always be with me. We tend to remember firsts, as they usually stop us in our tracks leaving us in a state of wonder and awe.

I remember my daughter Evelyn’s first Christmas, and how I bought WAY too many presents for her that she couldn’t even open yet, let alone remember or care. But, firsts are a stepping stone to all future occurrences and what can I say, I got REALLY excited! Firsts only happen once, gradually turning into seconds, thirds, and fourths until they blur together in our minds.

As a breastfeeding mom, I often find myself hidden away on a rocking chair somewhere nursing Levi. It’s not that I’m embarrassed. I’m actually pretty comfortable nursing him in front of people. Yet, as Levi grows older he gets easily distracted. He often pops his head up to look around and no longer likes being covered up by a nursing cover, so he’ll kick it away and get upset. I usually find a quiet spot for the two of us so that he can focus on nursing.

But, that becomes harder to do with the busy holiday season. That’s why I’ve been pumping more often and relying on our Playtex Baby bottles to get us from point A to point B with a happy baby in tow. We’ve been using the Playtex Baby™ Nurser® with Drop-Ins® Liners which are clinically proven to be closer to natural breastfeeding. The soft liner gently collapses like Mom’s breast for more natural breathing and feeding rhythm. Even the nipples are more like Mom’s which makes it much easier to switch between breast and bottle. So, I definitely recommend trying these out if you’re a breastfeeding mom. Plus, a major bonus is that the liners guarantee a clean bottle every time, which is perfect for the craziness of Christmastime.

This leads me to my fun announcement! I’m so excited to let you all know that I am joining the #PlaytexMoms #ForBetterBeginnings campaign! What exactly does that mean? It means that I’m an ambassador for Playtex Baby and I’ll be sharing how Playtex Baby makes my life easier as a mom with products that I pick out myself. You’ll be seeing more #ForBetterBeginnings posts throughout the next few months and I’m so proud to be part of such a cool program. As a mom, I appreciate brands that are all about supporting moms and their kiddos right from the very beginning and during all those “firsts”.

While I’m sure this Christmas season will fly by, I know I’ll remember it always. It is after all Levi’s very first Christmas, and while there will be many more to come, I’ll always remember his first.

  1. This holiday season is going to be SO fun and exciting for you! Yay for baby’s first Christmas! My sisters struggle with the same thing while nursing through this busy season when you’re always in the company of others – their babies get distracted, so they have to go hide away somewhere to nurse. The bottle is a life saver for them this time of year because they get to spend more time with friends and family at holiday gatherings. Happy holidays!

  2. I can not wait to start a family and our baby have his/her first Christmas! I always love this time of year. Congratulations on the new partnership! 🙂

  3. My daughter turned 3 just two days before Christmas! I have to say, every memory is precious. I love your baby’s name! I haven’t heard Levi in a while. He is adorable!

  4. First holidays are so magical with little ones. My youngest spent most of her first Christmas trying to eat the boxes and bows instead of caring one single bit about anything inside the packages. It’s something the whole family – including her older sister – still chuckle about years later.
