How sweet is it that Spencer from Spencer Unlimited nominated me for the Liebster Award!?!? This is an award given out by bloggers to new bloggers to show appreciation and recognition for their work. I have only been blogging 4.5 months, but in that time frame I have met and formed relationships with so many other bloggers! The connections help me grow in my blogging knowledge and within the writing community. It’s been a whirlwind so far and I’m loving every second of it! What has been your biggest blogging challenge?
The technical side of setting up a blog. Thank goodness for Google! I have learned so much via Google searches.
Did you think creating a blog would be harder or easier than it is?
I think my expectations were in the right place when I started. I knew it would be challenging, but I also knew I wanted to do it and I continue to immerse myself in the world of blogging to learn and grow.
What is your biggest motivation?
My daughter Evelyn. She inspires me and is the reason why I created my lifestyle blog which is focused on motherhood, family and home.
What do you do when you hit a creative road block?
I will let you know when I do! My problem is finding the time to blog about everything I want to write about since I work full time as an event planner and blog on the side.
What is the one thing you always have with you?
My iPhone! Sometimes it’s a little obsessive, okay, maybe a lot obsessive, but I’m attached to my phone. If I don’t have it, it feels so strange!
How do you promote your blog?
Social Media. I see a lot of direct traffic come from Facebook or Pinterest, but Instagram is where I form the best relationships and have the most fun!
Do you stick to a weekly blogging schedule?
No, but I’d like to! I typically post 1-3 times per week and my ideal days for posting are Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
What is your favorite quote?
I don’t have a favorite but I love this one: “Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life.” Society moves at such a fast pace and we often get caught up in work. I have come to realize work is never done. You can always do more work, but you need to draw a line in order to live life. I strive to find a balance between work and home so that I can create a beautiful childhood for my daughter.
Some people can’t live without their coffee, tea or soda, what is one drink of choice you can’t live without?
Hands down, COFFEE! My husband and I love it and usually have it all setup to brew the night before, so that we can wake up and it’s waiting for us in the morning.
Where do you see yourself in 2 years?
I see myself growing my family by hopefully giving Evie a sibling! I see my blog having a set weekly schedule, LOL!
How do you balance daily life and blogging?
As I become more experienced at blogging, tasks take less time. I do a lot of blogging at night after bedtime. I can do a lot from my iPhone so I squeeze quick tasks in when I have spare moments. Sometimes I only have time to post once a week and I’m okay with that.
