THE BOOK | The Little Paris Bookshop
OVERVIEW | My cousin Michelle gifted me this book for my birthday while I was in the middle of Big Little Lies {the last book club pick}. I made sure to make it next up in the SUGAR MAPLE book club lineup, since the description sounded so cute. The book is about an owner of a floating bookshop that resides in a barge on the Seine in Paris, France. Monsieur Perdu has a knack for prescribing the perfect book to heal the souls’ of his visitors. Whether it’s a hardship in life or a heartbreak, the books he suggests seem to have the power to help shape people’s lives, except for his own. He can’t seem to help himself through literature. He is heartbroken over the loss of the love of his life who left him with nothing but an unread letter.
His journey continues as he finds the courage to read the letter, leading him to go search for the woman who left him in hopes to find peace and an ending to the story. Do you believe stories and books can touch your soul and shape your life?
