Our guest/kids’ bathroom has been a blank canvas for the first few months that we lived in our new home. I couldn’t figure out how I wanted to decorate this small space. The bathroom decor I had from our old home just didn’t seem to fit. 

The walls remained blank. I knew I didn’t want a standard towel bar, but we threw one up because I was so indecisive with what I wanted to do. We just needed a spot to hang the kid’s bath towels. Six months later, I finally found the perfect pieces to decorate our modern farmhouse style bathroom, and the towel bar just had to go!

BATHROOM VANITY

I knew I wanted a white vanity with a carrera marble top and undermount sink for our bathroom. Instead of going with a builder grade built-in vanity we opted for this beautiful Hansell vanity by Poet’s Cove to upgrade the look of this small space.

It’s made with all wood construction using only solid wood and cabinet-grade plywood. You won’t find any pressboard or particle board used to construct this vanity. It’s top quality! It’s true fresh white in color and matches our white trim perfectly.

The vanity comes complete with all the features you want including soft-close doors, a wide lower drawer for extra storage, and a really cool kid-friendly step stool that slides out to give the kids a boost when trying to reach the sink. Evie just loves it! And I love that I don’t need to try to fit a step stool into this small bathroom.

BATHROOM SOFT GOODS

Look at these towels! I absolutely LOVE all-white towels and the floral medallion design on these Fleur Supima® towels from The Company Store make them both decorative and functional in our our modern farmhouse small bathroom. These luxury bath towels are jacquard woven of the finest American-grown Supima® cotton. They are so beautiful. 

I love the simplicity of our shower curtain with the little fringe at the bottom for detail, and the soft gray and white design in our bath mat that goes seamlessly with our tiled floor. 

BATHROOM HOOKS

The reason why I hate towel bars is because my OCD-self feels like I need to have it styled at all times. It can’t just be a functional space for towels to dry because they look so sloppy just hanging there. It drives me crazy going into the bathroom and feeling like I need to fold the towel perfectly so that it looks nice on the towel bar. Anyone else with me?! That’s when I decided that we needed hooks ASAP and the towel bar had to go. 

I bought the same hooks I used for the lockers in our mudroom, and my husband came up with the idea to use a salvaged piece of barn wood to run along the wall and anchor the hooks. The barn wood was leftover from our DIY Sliding Barn Door project in our master bedroom. I LOVE IT! I love that the towels look styled with ZERO effort. It’s exactly what I wanted even though I didn’t know what I wanted for so long. 🙂 

BATHROOM DECOR

Most of the decor in my bathroom is either from Home Goods or TJ Maxx, so unfortunately I can’t link it for you! But I did my best to find similar items in the source list at the end of the post.

There is just something about Highland cattle that I adore! This wall hanging is the piece that I designed the rest of the bathroom after! I snagged it at my local TJ Maxx, but I linked similar versions below. The floating shelf and little faux plant complete the look above the toilet. I think the cute little “remember to flush” sign is the perfect addition for a kid’s bathroom. Thank you Joanna and Chip for that sweet touch 😉
