For our family, summertime means we’re constantly on the go. Our bucket list includes staycations, mini road-trips, and plenty of time outside. We love discovering new beaches and exploring our own state of Wisconsin. Being on the go, doesn’t have to mean creating more waste. So, we’ve implemented one easy way to reduce our one-time-use plastic waste while we’re out and about.
We reduce our plastic waste on-the-go by bringing our Brita Filtering Bottles with us. These bottles make it easy for us to have great-tasting water anywhere we go. Plus, keeping ourselves and our kids hydrated in the hot summer sun is the last thing we want to worry about when we’re having fun.
One of our favorite spots to visit is Door County, Wisconsin. We hit up the beach in Sister Bay on one of the hottest days of the year. The water was cool and the beach was full of sand castle potential. We kept our Brita Filtering Bottles nearby to quench our thirst. It filters as you drink to deliver hassle-free hydration, without the waste.
I love seeing my kids enjoy getting outside, swimming, and digging in the sand. Getting away from the normal day-to-day and dedicating time for our family is important to us and something we strive to do often. Their dad seems to make everything even more fun and adventurous with extra-high tosses in the sky and guided jumps from the dock into the deep water.
Even though we’re having fun, we still strive to be mindful of our environment in order to keep it a place for everyone to enjoy for years to come. Did you guys know that the Brita Filtering Bottle can replace 1,800 plastic water bottles a year?! They are durable, BPA free and reduce chlorine taste and odor. I love they come in plenty of fun colors for us to choose from. It seems to make the kids more likely to grab for them.
Did you also know that 2,000 plastic water bottles are used every second in the U.S. and that they take 450 years to decompose? Unfortunately, 70% of plastic bottles are not recycled. We’re choosing to #PutFiltersFirst by bringing our Brita Filtering Bottles along on our family adventures.
What is your favorite way to make a more sustainable choice? I’d love to hear more suggestions so that we can implement even more into our daily routines.
So great to have cleaner water to drink especially when you are out having fun in the HOT sun!
