I’ve gathered educational toys for kids that we love. Most of these we already own and love and some are on our Christmas wish list this holiday season. Let’s get started with this educational toys gift guide for kids ages 3-6.

Educational Toys Gift Guide
LeapFrog Magic Adventures Globe – My kids are getting this for Christmas this year! Young explorers can travel the world and see everything in it with the Magic Adventures Globe. Using the stylus, children can tap on the 10″ interactive learning globe and experience new places, languages, cultures, animals, geography, habitats and more through high-quality BBC videos.
Resin Letter Set Alphabet Rainbow – Alphabet letters for sensory play! Bring the magic back to learning! These whimsical alphabet sets are perfect for preschoolers and little ones that are learning letter recognition. Each letter is hand poured and layered first with clear and glitter and then with color for a fun effect! These letters are non-toxic, FDA compliant and best for ages 3 and up.
Mudpuppy Search & Find Puzzle or Glow-in-the-Dark Puzzle – We love the Mudpuppy puzzles! The Search & Finds are fun because once you put the puzzle together you can then keep the activity going while you search for the items in the puzzle. My kids love the Glow-in-the-Dark puzzles too. Tip: take a flashlight to the puzzle before you turn out the lights to make it extra bright!
Personalized Trace-n-Erase Chalkboard – This 11×14 chalkboard is a practical, fun and easy-to-use tool for helping your child recognize their name and learn to spell it and write it neatly. It also looks super cute on a shelf for playroom or bedroom decor!
Squishy Human Body – Discover how the human body works with this squishy human body. Remove 21 realistic vital organs, bones, and muscles using the included forceps and tweezers; then rebuild the model from the toes to skull. Grab a book about the human body to pair with the gift.
PicassoTiles – These building tiles keep my kids busy for hours. Currently, we have Magnatiles, but we are adding PicassoTiles to the mix. I’ve read great reviews and you can find them at a better price-point. Never too early to start developing kids creativity. Children can acquire strong sense of color, geometrical shapes including 3D forms numbers counts, magnetic polarities & architectural design at early age.
MindWare Q-BA-Maze: Sparkle Builder Set – We own a couple of these Q-BA-Maze sets. This cute sparkly pink version and another more colorful version. Explore engineering and creativity with open-ended marble mazes. The cubes’ multiple exits give your own designs multiple pathways. Test probability and basic physics when you let the marbles loose!
Switch-Eroo Color Changing Markers – These cool markers surprise and delight with one regular color and one mystery color change. Color with the regular side, then use the mystery color change side (white tip) for a wonderful transformation. I love writing the kids names on a piece of paper with these and then having them write over the top with the color-changer for practice!
Carry Along Fox Sketchbook – Take this friendly little Fox sketchbook anywhere you create art. This delightful animal sketchbook is perfect for creating art on-the-move. It comes in other animals as well. The paper is thicker and it’s just so cute!
Osmo Math Wizard and The Secrets of The Dragons for iPad & Fire Tablet – We own this math game and now my daughter wants them all! Learn measurement & estimation through hands-on play on a 1st & 2nd grade math adventure! Self-paced play means kids have time to master a concept before moving on to new material. An Osmo Base for iPad or Fire Tablet & an iPad or Fire Tablet are not included, both are required for game play.
Slumberkins Ibex Snuggler & Board Book – We love the Slumberkins line! This particular animal teaches empathy and they each have their own emotional tool. Ibex’s story gives children the courage to embrace their deep feelings and see sensitivity as a gift that should be shared, not hidden away. Ibex learns how to access resilience and do the right thing even when it is hard to do—showing us that ‘toughness’ doesn’t mean an absence of feelings but the acceptance of them.
Numbers and Alphabets Flash Cards – Little ones will love sorting the wooden blocks and matching them to the cards! It is a great way for them to learn the alphabet and numbers. It promotes their color recognition, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving skills, and it helps build the foundation for a lifetime love of learning.
Big Book of Birds + matching Sticker Book and Bird Watching Binoculars – We own all of the Big Book series and it’s just too beautiful for words. The illustrations are captivating and the non-fiction facts are perfect for learning. They each have a matching sticker book filled with even more learning opportunities. Pair the books with a pair of binoculars to feed their appetite for learning about birds.
This helps your child advance through the stages of physical development. Toys that require them to push, pull, grab, pinch, turn, or otherwise use their hands and body to make it do something are instrumental in a child’s growth.
