One of my favorite ways to add a festive touch to the holidays is to serve a stylized dessert board! These Ghirardelli Dipped Pretzel Rods make the perfect centerpiece – and they’re easy to make too! Hooray! What makes this recipe so easy and delicious are the Ghirardelli White Vanilla Flavored Melting Wafers that I purchased at Walmart. Let’s get right into the details of this simple, yet fun recipe. Plus, I’ll even give you some tips and inspiration for creating your own decorative Holiday Board.
Ghirardelli Dipped Pretzel Rods Recipe
Prep 5 min
Cook 5 min
Servings 12 rods
INGREDIENTS
- 1 Bag Ghirardelli White Vanilla Flavored Melting Wafers, 10 OZ
- 12 Pretzel Rods
- Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark Squares (crushed), and/or Ghirardelli Chocolate Caramel Squares (crumbled) (optional)
- Ghirardelli Bittersweet 60% Cacao Baking Chips (melted for drizzling) (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
- STEP 1 – Line tray or baking sheet with wax paper.
- STEP 2 – Microwave wafers in dry, uncovered microwave-safe container at half power for 30 seconds. Stir thoroughly with a dry spoon. If not completely melted, continue to microwave at 15 second intervals until smooth. I did the entire bag, so it took me about two minutes total. Just don’t overheat! It’s better to keep checking, and add more time in increments rather than be hasty.
- STEP 3 – It’s time to dip and decorate! Lean the bowl and swirl your pretzel rods in the creamy Ghirardelli White Vanilla Melting Wafers. Use a butter knife or spatula to help cover more of the pretzel. Decorate with crushed Peppermint Bark Squares or crumbled Chocolate Caramel Squares. Melt the 60% Baking Chips using the same method as above. (They require more time than the Melting Wafers.) Use a fork to drizzle over your pretzel rods.
- STEP 4 – Refrigerate for 5-10 minutes or until Melting Wafers are set.

Holiday Board Inspiration
Enjoy, store, or serve! My favorite way to serve holiday treats like these Ghirardelli Dipped Pretzel Rods is on a decorative dessert board. I started with a round wooden board and a cute star shaped dish and then started filling in with treats. The dipped pretzel rods went in first and then I filled in the rest of the tray with Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark, Ghirardelli Caramel Squares, fresh orange slices, seasonal cranberries, peppermint sticks, and star-shaped cheese slices.
Head over to Walmart today or use their grocery pick-up services to get your Ghirardelli White Vanilla Flavored Melting Wafers – an essential part of seasonal festivities and traditions.
