Sarah Harmsen - SUGAR MAPLE notes Motherhood Blogger

I’m Sarah, a lifestyle blogger living in northeast Wisconsin. My heart is happiest when I feel at home. I’m a mother, a wife, a planner and creator. I love turning spaces into places of comfort and elevating everyday experiences into something special.

I graduated with a Journalism degree from the University of Wisconsin and made a career out of planning events. After having my second child, my heart ached to be at home with my kids. This blog is my outlet to share my talents in an untraditional format. Motivated by my desire to give Evelyn and Levi a beautiful childhood and have a flexible schedule, I quit my “nine to five” job and dove into the world of blogging and mothering.

I value family around the dinner table, rocking chairs on a porch, a childhood dresser refurbished for the next generation, a gathering around a bonfire with good food, drinks and stories, a family trip with lifetime memories, a photo that captures a magical moment… and at the end of the day home is where my heart is.

Why SUGAR MAPLE notes?  It’s a nod to my home state. The sugar maple is Wisconsin’s state tree. I grew up with beautiful large maple trees in our yard. As kids, we would climb those trees, play in them, jump in piles of their leaves, swing from a rope swing and zip line to other trees. One year, we even took a family photo scattered among the branches in a large maple tree on the side of our childhood home. To me SUGAR MAPLE notes represents home and family, which is what my blog is all about.
