Christmas Madness & Magic

Christmas Madness & Magic

Christmas Eve ended up being pretty rough for Evelyn. We were traveling and hoped she’d fall asleep in the car, but of course that did not happen. By the time we got to the party, she was already a bit cranky and it didn’t help that she was fighting a cold and teething! She ended up gettingRead more

18 Months of Evelyn

December 18, 2015January 8, 2016 - Sarah 1 Comment

“Time flies.” “They grow up so fast.” “They’ll be off to college before you know it.” These are all typical sayings you hear as a new mom and while they are totally cliché, they are 100% true! While Evelyn is not quite ready for college at 18 months old, she is growing fast and IRead more

When you have a young family you get to decide what will become your own family traditions. Traditions that your kids will grow up knowing and remembering when they look back at their childhood. Ever since Jeremy and I started dating we always took a day to pick out a real Christmas tree. You can’tRead more

Toddler Trick: Lock Features on your iPad

December 4, 2015January 8, 2016 - Sarah 4 Comments

If you have a toddler who uses your iPad you definitely need to know this trick! I have an iPad Mini with a few toddler apps and videos on it for Evelyn. She immediately fell in love with the Home button which would subsequently take her out of the app causing a temper tantrum because her gameRead more

Making Colorful Playdough

November 30, 2015May 15, 2016 - Sarah 6 Comments

While dad’s away the girls will play! Jeremy was gone hunting last weekend so Evelyn and I made playdough. The real ingredients are a little messy, so I gave Evie a set of spoons, a mixing bowl, cheerios and animal crackers so that she felt part of the cooking process. She mixed her ingredients whileRead more

Eat, Drink & Be Thankful for Today

November 25, 2015January 8, 2016 - Sarah 2 Comments

In a world that moves so fast it’s easy to get caught up thinking about tomorrow and planning for the future, but today I’d like to slow down and be thankful for the memories I’ve built and the moments happening right now. We’re all guilty of constantly thinking ahead – the changes we can make,Read more

These are a few of my favorite baby things…

November 19, 2015June 21, 2016 - Sarah 6 Comments

I remember feeling so overwhelmed when it came to starting my baby registry. I asked for advice from other parents and I would hear generic terms like bottles, blankets, diapers, baby monitor, etc. I remember thinking, right, but what EXACTLY should I buy because there are thousands of items to choose from for each babyRead more

Playing with Pumpkins

November 18, 2015January 8, 2016 - Sarah 4 Comments

It’s not too late to play with pumpkins this fall! Evelyn loved picking out pumpkins for the family at a local farm down the road from our home. It was one of those perfect fall days for being outside – colorful leaves, a cool breeze, but warm sun and that scent of autumn in theRead more

Timeline to Motherhood

November 14, 2015January 8, 2016 - Sarah 2 Comments

TIMELINE TO MOTHERHOOD: 2009 | A tall and handsome guy named Jeremy took me out for dinner and a movie and I knew I would soon be his girlfriend. 2011 | We went hiking through Parfrey’s Glen and in that moment when we reached the bottom of a beautiful lush ravine, I become his fiancé. 2012Read more

Today felt like one of those core memory kind of days 🤍

Olivia asked if we could play dolls, and then asked if I still had my doll from when I was little. So I pulled my original @americangirlbrand Kirsten doll out of storage… along with her trunk, clothes, tiny accessories, and all the little treasures I somehow saved for over 30 years.

Watching my daughter carefully go through the same tiny outfits and accessories that meant everything to me as a child honestly felt surreal. It was like getting to step back into my own childhood for a minute… while watching hers unfold at the exact same time.

I’m so grateful little-me kept all of this 🥹

Did anyone else save their American Girl dolls or childhood toys?

Spent the sweetest spring day exploring Green Bay Botanical Garden with my best friend and our girls 🌷✨

None of us had ever been before, and somehow it felt magical from the moment we walked in. The early spring blooms were beautiful, the girls loved exploring every path, and we honestly could’ve stayed all day.

Bestie packed us a picnic so we could soak up as much time in the gardens as possible 🧺💐 We already promised we’d come back later in the season when even more is blooming.

And of course… we couldn’t leave without stopping at the gift shop for some Seroogy’s chocolate bars for the drive home 🍫🤍

Some days just feel extra special.

One thing about me… every spring I will be making my Walmart garden center run 🌿🌸

And my annual PSA: the Boston ferns are officially IN and Walmart always has some of the best prices I can find anywhere 👏 I check local greenhouses too (and absolutely love supporting them 🫶), but Walmart is always one of my stops for ferns, flowers, organic soil, planters, and patio inspiration.

Today’s trip included:
🌿 pretty planters
🌸 fresh flowers
🪴 organic soil for my gardens + planters
☀️ patio set dreaming
…and trying not to leave with everything 😂

If you want links to anything I showed, comment “Walmart Garden Center” or “Patio Season” and I’ll send them to you 💌

A mom-daughter treasure hunt at @olliesoutlet is always a good idea ✨

From towels and pet finds to books, rugs, tools, and even 99¢ cards. Every aisle had something fun to discover. That’s what makes Ollie’s so special… every trip feels different, and the prices are already this low every day.

Our favorite stop? Always the book section 📚

What’s the first aisle you head to at Ollie’s?

Basement flood Part 2… and thankfully, this update
Basement flood Part 2… and thankfully, this update is a lot less chaotic.

We moved FAST on drying, and I really think that made all the difference. We’ve had multiple dehumidifiers running nonstop, tons of fans and blowers going, and we’ve been checking everything with a moisture meter to make sure we’re not missing hidden moisture in the walls and floors.

With all the recent flooding across Wisconsin, groundwater levels have been really high, and our best guess is that hydrostatic pressure briefly pushed water in while our sump pump was catching up. We lowered the float so it kicks on sooner moving forward.

I think our saving grace has been our wood pellet stove keeping dry heat circulating down there. It helped dry things out way quicker than I expected.

We’re also being super intentional moving forward:
- Replacing all cardboard storage with plastic bins
- Getting everything up off the ground
- Purging and deep cleaning which honestly turned into the cleanest our basement has ever been 🫶

We’ll likely be replacing the rugs that got saturated, but overall we’re feeling really grateful we caught it early and avoided major damage.

Pro tip call your people. Bounce house blowers from family and friends worked just as well as the industrial ones we rented 😂

If you want links to the moisture meter and our favorite tools we used, comment “basement tools” and I’ll send everything your way.

Not the situation we wanted but definitely making the best of it.
