Christmas Home Tour

December 21, 2015January 8, 2016 - Sarah 5 Comments

For me, Christmas brings about a sense of home and family. It’s a time to cherish one another and spend time together. I love turning our home into a cozy Christmas wonderland during the holiday season to make the experience even more special. I typically end up adding a few things to my collection each year. Peanut Butter Balls Recipe

December 17, 2015August 25, 2016 - Sarah 2 Comments

Want a healthy treat this Christmas? Well, despite natural peanut butter being the main ingredient, this is NOT it. These peanut butter balls are D-I-V-I-N-E and worth every calorie! We made them during my family cookie baking party last weekend and cannot stop eating them. They are best made with a group because rolling all thoseRead more

Dear Santa: Toddler Toy List

December 8, 2015December 13, 2018 - Sarah 8 Comments

Last year, was Evelyn’s first Christmas but she was only 6 months old, so opening gifts for her was really for mom and dad’s enjoyment and not so much for hers. This year, she’s 18 months old and I cannot wait to see her open her gifts as she is just old enough to get excitedRead more

Christmas Tree Tradition

December 7, 2015January 8, 2016 - Sarah 7 Comments

When you have a young family you get to decide what will become your own family traditions. Traditions that your kids will grow up knowing and remembering when they look back at their childhood. Ever since Jeremy and I started dating we always took a day to pick out a real Christmas tree. You can’tRead more

Christmas Frame Crafting

December 2, 2015January 8, 2016 - Sarah Leave a comment

My mom has perfected making her home feel cozy and appropriately decorated for every holiday. She changes out pillows, blankets, table and mantel decor, the works. One of my favorite spots to check out each holiday is her table of old photos. She has an array of themed picture frames that host memories of pastRead more

Eat, Drink & Be Thankful for Today

November 25, 2015January 8, 2016 - Sarah 2 Comments

In a world that moves so fast it’s easy to get caught up thinking about tomorrow and planning for the future, but today I’d like to slow down and be thankful for the memories I’ve built and the moments happening right now. We’re all guilty of constantly thinking ahead – the changes we can make,Read more

Playing with Pumpkins

November 18, 2015January 8, 2016 - Sarah 4 Comments

It’s not too late to play with pumpkins this fall! Evelyn loved picking out pumpkins for the family at a local farm down the road from our home. It was one of those perfect fall days for being outside – colorful leaves, a cool breeze, but warm sun and that scent of autumn in theRead more

Just one of those summer days that filled our cups. ☀️🌊

We spent the day at the beach, soaked up every minute of the sunshine, and finished it off with ice cream… because that’s just how a beach day should end. 🍦

The unexpected highlight? Levi’s cousins buried him in the sand and covered him with chips so the seagulls would come to him. 😂 He was all in on the plan and stayed perfectly still, completely committed to seeing if it would work.

These are the little moments that end up becoming our favorite memories. 💙

When Jeremy and I first got married, we bought a little ski boat and spent our first two summers renting a tiny lake house. Those are still some of my favorite memories.

Then we got pregnant with our first baby, sold the boat, and told ourselves, “One day we’ll buy another one.”

For years, we heard the same things: Boats aren’t worth it. They’re expensive. They’re a lot of work.

And honestly? They’re right about one thing… they do take work.

But so do most of the best things in life.

Not every purchase has to be an investment that grows your bank account. Some investments grow your family, your memories, your traditions, and your quality of life.

When people say a boat is a depreciating asset, I can’t help but smile. Because while the boat may lose value on paper, every summer it gives us another sunset, another laugh, another tubing adventure, another memory we’ll never get back.

To us, that’s the kind of investment that’s worth making. ❤️🚤

There’s just something about coffee, books, and wandering the aisles with my girls. ☕📚 I’ve been meaning to try the Barnes & Noble Café Book deal since LAST fall and finally made it happen. Buy a café drink and you can pick up the monthly Café Read for just $5!

This month’s pick is Salty: two estranged sisters, a luxury yacht, shady rich people, and a mysterious dead body. It already sounds like the perfect beach read. 🌊

The girls had just as much fun exploring the children’s section (that little stage is the cutest 🥹), and now I’m wishing Barnes & Noble was a lot closer to us because we’d definitely become regulars.

Have you read Salty yet… or what’s one book I need to add to my TBR?

Apparently the “AI Facebook Marketplace cabinet” debate isn’t over. 😂

After reading so many of your comments, I had to show it from another angle! I honestly can’t decide if I like it angled in the corner or pushed flush against the wall.

So now I’m leaving it up to the Internet…

✨ Which looks better: ANGLED or FLUSH? Tell me why - I want to hear your vote!

Nothing for breakfast? Challenge accepted. 🍁🥚☕️

After having to throw away all of our eggs, I decided to skip the grocery store and source breakfast the local way. I love that we have so many amazing local options right in our area!

Here’s where we stopped:

🍁 Taps Maple Syrup — local maple syrup
🥛 Park Ridge Organics — Farm Staples chocolate milk, Thunderbird Bakery bread, Freis Von Kiel Salted Butter, and Prairie Gold pasture-raised organic eggs

There’s just something special about knowing where your food comes from and supporting the people who make it possible. ❤️

Also… if you’re upgrading your kitchen, don’t forget about my favorite non-toxic nonstick pans from @caraway_home . You can use code SUGARMAPLENOTES10 for 10% off (even on top of their sales!).

Thanks for coming along for our little breakfast adventure! 🍳✨
