As I started finding decor for our master bedroom I realized I had more of a boho farmhouse master bedroom, than just modern farmhouse style alone. You’ll see a mixture of styles throughout my home. Rather than going in one specific design direction, I just decorate and mix pieces I like.

For our master bedroom, I wanted it to be light and bright, but I added in earth tones and lots of texture to add warmth. Having a cozy bedroom is a must. I want it to feel like a sanctuary in our a home for me and my hubby. A master bedroom should be somewhere you can wind down and relax.

I love the feel of this soft shag tassel rug beneath my feet as I hop in and out of bed. The fun tribal pattern adds contrast to the bright white walls and inspired the addition of plants, brass elements, and terracotta orange into the room.

I love playing with pillow covers and I get all of them made by one of my favorite Etsy shops. The pillows placed along the bench under my window are a few of my favorites, especially the faux leather covers in cognac brown. Pillow covers are an easy way to style a boho farmhouse master bedroom.

The star of the room is definitely the sign above our bed. “LOVE ONE ANOTHER” is a beautiful daily reminder for me and Jeremy to always keep in mind as husband and wife. The sign is handmade and distressed by Lisa at 42nd Circle Design. She does gorgeous work and the wood that she uses is exceptional. Her pieces are worth collecting for your home! A ceiling fan is a MUST for us in our bedroom as we sleep with it on every night. We both love the soft sound and the light breeze it gives off as we sleep (even in winter!).

My husband made our barn door using floorboards from an old Wisconsin farm right down the road from us. It adds so much character to our room.
