Weekend Chex Mix

November 23, 2015January 8, 2016 - Sarah 2 Comments

My sister and I started making chex mix back when we lived together during college. We added our favorite snacks rather than just regular pretzels and peanuts. Since then, it has become my go-to snack recipe for long weekends. Opening weekend for hunting season made for the perfect time to make a big batch. IRead more

These are a few of my favorite baby things…

November 19, 2015June 21, 2016 - Sarah 6 Comments

I remember feeling so overwhelmed when it came to starting my baby registry. I asked for advice from other parents and I would hear generic terms like bottles, blankets, diapers, baby monitor, etc. I remember thinking, right, but what EXACTLY should I buy because there are thousands of items to choose from for each babyRead more

Playing with Pumpkins

November 18, 2015January 8, 2016 - Sarah 4 Comments

It’s not too late to play with pumpkins this fall! Evelyn loved picking out pumpkins for the family at a local farm down the road from our home. It was one of those perfect fall days for being outside – colorful leaves, a cool breeze, but warm sun and that scent of autumn in theRead more

It’s my 5 year work anniversary! I’m lucky to work for a company that has pretty cool benefits, one of which is a month long sabbatical trip gifted every 5 years. Next spring, my family and I will be heading to beautiful Costa Rica! I took a lot of different factors into consideration when choosing a destinationRead more

Refurbishing Childhood Dressers

November 15, 2015January 8, 2016 - Sarah 2 Comments

When you get married you inherit a lot of each other’s stuff. The good, the bad and the ugly. Bringing it all together in your home consists of compromise. Among these inherited items, were my husband’s old childhood dressers. They were beat up, well used and dated. But they functioned well and had a niceRead more

Timeline to Motherhood

November 14, 2015January 8, 2016 - Sarah 2 Comments

TIMELINE TO MOTHERHOOD: 2009 | A tall and handsome guy named Jeremy took me out for dinner and a movie and I knew I would soon be his girlfriend. 2011 | We went hiking through Parfrey’s Glen and in that moment when we reached the bottom of a beautiful lush ravine, I become his fiancé. 2012Read more

Apparently the “AI Facebook Marketplace cabinet” debate isn’t over. 😂

After reading so many of your comments, I had to show it from another angle! I honestly can’t decide if I like it angled in the corner or pushed flush against the wall.

So now I’m leaving it up to the Internet…

✨ Which looks better: ANGLED or FLUSH? Tell me why - I want to hear your vote!

Nothing for breakfast? Challenge accepted. 🍁🥚☕️

After having to throw away all of our eggs, I decided to skip the grocery store and source breakfast the local way. I love that we have so many amazing local options right in our area!

Here’s where we stopped:

🍁 Taps Maple Syrup — local maple syrup
🥛 Park Ridge Organics — Farm Staples chocolate milk, Thunderbird Bakery bread, Freis Von Kiel Salted Butter, and Prairie Gold pasture-raised organic eggs

There’s just something special about knowing where your food comes from and supporting the people who make it possible. ❤️

Also… if you’re upgrading your kitchen, don’t forget about my favorite non-toxic nonstick pans from @caraway_home . You can use code SUGARMAPLENOTES10 for 10% off (even on top of their sales!).

Thanks for coming along for our little breakfast adventure! 🍳✨

If you’re looking for an EPIC summer memory to make this year… consider hosting a DIY slip-and-slide backyard party! 💦☀️

The verdict is in… the kids and the adults loved this one! Everyone brought a dish to pass, we spent the evening laughing and playing outside, then ended the night warming up by a giant bonfire 🔥

And of course… we had homemade milkshakes with all the fun toppings because what’s a summer party without a little sweetness?! 🍦✨

This was definitely a summer night to remember.

Would your family love a backyard party like this? 👇

I can’t begin to tell you how grateful I am for this family. 🤍

It all started with my mom and dad, who welcomed seven children into the world and created a home where laughter, friendship, and togetherness were simply part of everyday life.

As adults, we all scattered in different directions to build lives of our own. But somehow, one by one, we found our way back to the place our family has long called home, choosing to raise our own children close to the people who first taught us what family means.

Watching our parents’ love grow into seven children, five wonderful significant others, and 14 grandchildren is something I’ll never take for granted.

This life has reminded me that it’s never really about where you are. It’s about who you’re with.

I’m endlessly thankful for these people, these memories, and this family that just keeps growing. 🤍

The older I get, the more I realize that the people who choose to make time for you are giving you one of the greatest gifts they have.

In a world that feels busy and loud, the text, the phone call, the coffee date, and the “I was thinking about you” matter more than ever. 🤍
