Oh, Hello Fall! Even though we have zero landscaping (besides a fresh lawn) I still wanted to decorate our front porch for the first Fall in our new home. The stained wood truss and gable is my very favorite feature of the exterior of our home. It’s the perfect nook to frame my seasonal decorRead more

I’ve watched someone I love be placed in moments where his presence made all the difference. And I’ve also seen what it feels like when others show up for us in the moments we needed it most. Both have reminded me that being there for someone is never small, it can change everything.

She’s officially got the thrift bug… and I’m not mad about it. One quick stop, a few unexpected finds, and another shopping memory made together.

And in the middle of the mess, we found what truly matters most… people.

“Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.”

My parents showed up first thing in the morning and immediately jumped into hours of shop-vacuuming, carrying things outside, drying, sorting, and washing. My brother-in-law went to Menards for even more equipment, then he and my sister took the kids, entertained them, and fed them lunch. My mother-in-law brought lunch for everyone, then took the kids for the afternoon and fed them dinner. My brother brought extra dehumidifiers and blowers. Friends, neighbors, and even our insurance agent stopped by or reached out, all offering a helping hand.

And that’s what I’ll remember.

When life feels heavy, look for the people. The people are what matter. If you are surrounded by those who show up for you, love you, and carry the load alongside you, then you are rich in all the ways that count.

Today was hard. Things were damaged, and some were lost. But everything will be okay.

Perspective changes everything. Stuff is just stuff. What remains is the kindness, the generosity, and the reminder that we are never meant to carry hard things alone.

If you’re going through something difficult, lean on the people around you. Thank God for the blessings that show up in the middle of the mess. And never underestimate the power of the helpers.

Because in the end, they are what make even the hardest days feel possible.

To our dear friend Kaleb,

It almost feels overused to say the world lost a bright light too soon, but that is exactly how I would describe the loss of our dear friend Kaleb.

He brought positivity and joy into every space he entered, no matter what was happening. Every time my husband and I left time spent with Kaleb and Hilary, we felt lighter, happier, and grateful. Their conversations were always inspiring. We would talk about our families, life goals, vacations, marriage, and all the things that make life meaningful. They had a way of making ordinary moments feel special.

Kaleb and Hilary were the kind of couple you instantly recognized as soulmates. They were true partners in every sense. Best friends, parents, companions, and the kind of marriage others admire and look up to. Together, they showed that life can be more joyful when it is shared fully and wholeheartedly.

Kaleb was my husband’s best friend and the best man in our wedding because he truly was the best. He showed up for the people in his life in ways that mattered. His two sons could not have asked for a better father - whether he was coaching baseball, setting up fun backyard activities, or taking them fishing, he gave them memories that will last forever.

When someone is taken so suddenly, at only 42 years old, it is impossible not to ask why. Why him? Why now? We had a group chat called 🍻 CHEERS TO BEERS 🍻 where we joked, laughed, and planned our next adventures. Our last conversation was about taking a beach vacation together, dreaming about all the places we wanted to go.

These are the kinds of friendships you expect to grow old with. The kind you imagine sharing future milestones, vacations, and decades of memories together.

We are going to miss you deeply, Kaleb.

A saying my dad shared with us captured this painful experience so well:
“There is no greater sorrow than to remember happy times. Trust in God’s promises provides the hope of how we are to abide in the tension, that something so sweet has now passed. Remember, you are dust, but are called to glory.”

Your life was a gift, and your light will continue in the people who loved you.

And yes it’s true. These baking sheets are incredible. I’ve tested them side by side with other pans and the difference is real. Cookies bake more evenly, slide right off, and cleanup is effortless. I truly can’t say enough good things. I love my cookware and bakeware so much.

Next on my wish list the double burner griddle and round cake pan 👀

I bought two plain cakes and decided to trust the vision… and somehow a whole little fairy garden came to life 🧚✨

Nothing fancy, just sprinkles, shimmer, and a little imagination. Watching it all come together made it feel even more special than ordering one.

Would you ever try decorating your own birthday cake, or are you team “leave it to the pros”? 🌸
